2019 Easter Egg Hunt recap
Under sunny blue skies and warm temperatures, hundreds of kids of all ages came together at Holiday Harbor for a day of Easter fun at the annual Family Matters Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival.
In this year’s Easter egg hunt, small groups of children gathered toy-filled eggs while hoping to discover a “Winning Egg” hidden among the thousands of eggs in the Easter Egg Hunt Village. Everyone got to keep the eggs, and the six lucky kids who found the Golden Eggs became Grand Prize Winners, taking home a giant stuffed Easter toy and bag filled with prizes.
The children also enjoyed playing carnival-style games and “spending” their winnings on an assortment of toys. In addition to the games and egg hunt, there was a bounce house, crafts, face painting/tattoos, and a choice of yummy food at the snack bar. The Easter Bunny made his appearance and encouraged children and their parents to sit for photos. Adults could shop at the many vendor booths that presented items including handbags, clothing, jewelry, household items and pet goodies.
According to CLFMC spokesperson and founder Shawna Bowen, “The kids seemed to really enjoy the new Easter Egg Hunt Village. They were able to take time to search and choose the eggs they wanted! It was a great change that everyone, kids and adults, seemed to enjoy.”
A special thank-you to the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club and all the teen volunteers who worked hard to make this a special and fun-filled event for the children of Canyon Lake. As well as a special mention The Canyon Lake Car Club, Tennis Club and Texas Roadhouse for their donations to help make the event a success.
