Halloween Carnival 2019

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club had a very successful Halloween on Sunday October 20th at Holiday Harbor. There were over 160 children dressed in a fun variety of Halloween costumes. The Annual Halloween Carnival and Costume Contest started at noon with dozens of game booths, crafts, and face painting. Additionally Family Matters kept the fun going, with Halloween music and several contest such as apple bobbing, pretzel eating and Halloween bingo.

Vendors were on hand, selling lots of fun Halloween items. The snack bar had all the usual snacks like Halloweenies (hot dogs) and Monster Fingers (taquitos) even some Lake Sludge (soda floats). A costume parade and contest was held with the winner of the girl category, McKenzie Towle as a scary doll, boy category was Landen Hood as a headless man, and grand prize winner was Samantha Triolo as a broken wind up doll.

New to this year’s Halloween Carnival was the Trunk of Treat section. It was filled with fun entries from The Wizard of Oz to Harry Potter. There were 14 entries in all this year. The winner of the best decorated Trunk and receiver of 4 Disneyland passes was the Wakeboarding Club entry of the Haunted House.

The proceeds from this event allow Family Matters to do its philanthropic work throughout the year. For more information please find them on Facebook or their website FamilyMattersClub.org
